PhD Student – We are currently looking for excellent PhD students join our Urban Agility and Resilience Lab in the College of Design, Construction and Planning at the University of Florida. We are a STEM-designated PhD program (CIP 04.0902; effective Fall 2020).
Qualified candidates should have strong expertise in data analytics, statistics, computer science, GIS, or a related analytical field, as well as a strong interest in applying these approaches to solve urban-scale issues. Candidates with interest and experience in analysis at the intersection of data science and coupled human-built environment system are especially encouraged to apply.
Successful candidates will study one of the following areas in analyzing, visualizing and simulating human and built environment interactions across urban scales with respect to resilient, safe and equitable communities:
- Descriptive, Comparative and Predictive Urban Analytics (e.g. spatial, semantic and visual data)
- Anticipating Resilience of Integrated Human and Built Environment Systems to Extreme Events
- Crisis Informatics (e.g. events detection, combatting misinformation, risk communication)
- Modeling Human Dynamics for Future Cities Planning (EV, AV, MoD)
